Monty Guo is a distinguished music educator and accomplished violinist with a successful track record. His teaching accomplishments include guiding students to achieve high distinctions in AMEB exams, notably mentoring a five-year-old beginner to an AmusA Distinction in under six years.
As a musician, Monty's talent has earned him recognition, including a performance at HSC Encore at the Sydney Opera House as a soloist, an opportunity granted to only 20 students in NSW annually.
Monty’s musical journey is adorned with a series of scholarships. He received the George Henderson Scholarship, which allowed him to travel to Berlin and receive mentorship from professors at Berlin Hoschule Fur Musik. He was also a recipient of the Gerald Westheimer Fellowship and was a Trinity Grammar School music scholar. Additionally, his accolades include First Prizes in the Sydney Eisteddfod Violin (Under 16s), String Quartet and Chamber Orchestra sections.
As a teacher, Monty is known for his enthusiasm and passion for developing the next generation of talent. He maintains a stimulating and engaging classroom atmosphere while being strict when needed. Monty employs a variety of teaching methods to ensure his lessons are both informative and enjoyable for his students.
